The English Premier League is the biggest football league in the world with an array of talented superstars gracing almost every team and spectacular production quality. Stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohammed salah, Erling Haaland, and Kevin de bruyne . The league is full of world-class players with the best managers at the helm of the teams.
This season Pep Guardiola, Thomas tuchel, Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp will be vying for the title which shows the quality of managers the Premier league possess.
With so many quality teams on display it is hard to choose only one to support, here are the five we recommend you consider.
5. Liverpool
Liverpool is currently the most successful football club in England. Last season they won the Fa Cup and Carabao Cup, lost the finals of the champions league to Real Madrid and came second losing the Premier League to Manchester City.
It was not always non stop success as before the arrival of Jurgen Klopp Liverpool was in a slump. They had missed out on the Premier League to Manchester City under Brendan Rogers.
Major Transfers have been made as talisman Sadio mane has been sold to Bayern Munich, kop legend divock origi has been sold to ac Milan and Cup hero Takumi Minamino has been sold to AS Monaco.
With additions to the team like darwin Nunez and 18-year-old Portuguese sensation Fabio Carvalho, it will be interesting to see how the next few years play out for the reds.
It’s still not clear if Nunez will be able to replicate the success of sadio mane, although early showings show he’ll bring his own unique qualities to the table and with Diogo jota signing a contract extension Liverpool seem to have top-class attacking depth.
Klopp has said he has no intentions of signing a new midfielder as he is content with the development of young stars harvey elliot and Curtis Jones. Given his track record of developing players into world class stars who can argue?
This season has got off to a bumpy start for Liverpool, for me it’s more interesting to see how klopp fixes this.
4. Arsenal fc
I remember Arsenal fans singing and screaming for arsenal Wenger to be sacked ad they didn’t feel a champions league spot was an achievement and showed a lack of ambition or progress.
Arsene Wenger failed to qualify for the champions league in his penultimate season and that was the last time Arsenal qualified for the UEFA champions league.
Arsenal has regressed as a club since the retirement of Arsene Wenger. I remember Alexis Sanchez snubbing Liverpool for arsenal, recently they lost out on Emi Buendia to Aston villa. The club has been steadily adding quality young players to its roster over the past few years.
Under Mikel Arteta they have spent 130 million pounds this season as they seek to enter the final phases of rebuilding. With the team boasting top names like Gabriel Jesus, bukayo saka, Martin Odegaard, and Zinchenko, it’s a good time to be an Arsenal fan.
They have started the season firing on all cylinders and find themselves in early contention for the title, but I think the goal is obviously a top-four spot.
3. Nottingham Forest
This is an exciting season for all fans of Nottingham Forest as their team has never been in the Premier League since it was rebranded. Forest is one of the only English teams to win a European Cup and they actually won the European Cup back to back. The fans have had to watch their team roll through the championship for years often forgotten but this is extremely heartwarming.
The club seems bent on staying in the Premier League as they have added quality in the form of former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard, Taiwo awoniyi who set the Bundesliga on fire last season for union berlin bagging 20 goals in 40 appearances, goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United and also signing former Liverpool prospect Neco Williams
No matter the outcome, fans of the club will be eagerly anticipating the first 3 points the club obtains in the Premier league.
2. Manchester United
Manchester United is one of the most popular clubs in the world. They have legendary figures like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, and Edwin van der Sar, they are a club known to win big trophies.
That was until the retirement of their long time manager sir Alex Ferguson, they have never been the same juggernaut and it is not for the lack of trying since then David Moyes, Jose Mourinho, van Gaal, ole gunnar solksjaer and Ralph ragnick have all taken control of the team and have had significant financial backing with the only success being the Europe league and fa Cup win by Jose Mourinho and an fa Cup with Luis van goal.
Under new manager Erik ten Haag, success is expected as he is a master tactician who often puts his trust in the youth players to aid development. Manchester United might be a fallen giant but they are slowly waking up. He sounds like the man needed to help young prospects like Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rushford, and Anthony martial reach their full potential.
Manchester United have the players needed, the coaches needed, the facilities needed and the finances, it won’t be long until they rediscover their winning habit.
1. Newcastle United
Newcastle United is a fallen giant awakening. The club was revamped instantly as new owners with deep pockets have backed the manager financially in a way that wasn’t possible under the former owner.
Proof of their intentions was the purchase of 23-year-old sensation Alexander Isak from real Sociedad for 70 million. The Swedish forward has been steadily improving his game in recent years and had his breakout season for real sociedad in the 2020-2021 season where he led the line and scored 17 goals in 3 appearances in the league.
Alongside talented players like miguel almiron, bruno guimareas, and allan saint maxime, he is sure to flourish.
Newcastle has surpassed all expectations and currently sit fourth on the EPL standings, there is a positive atmosphere around the club.
